Every parent’s feeding experience is as unique as their baby. While the journey may be easy for some, others may struggle.Real Parent Storyis a series on our blog where we ask real parents to share their feeding stories. Whether you’re expecting or already have little one, we hope these stories can offer you insight into what worked (or didn’t work) for parents just like you. Today, we will be sharing Michelle and Samuel’s story!
I actually found your formula by chance while shopping at Sprouts, and thought we would try out. I had already been researching goat milk formula online.
My son was diagnosed with the “blanket term” lactose sensitivity. I am not a huge fan of this term because I don’t feel it is an entirely accurate explanation of my son’s actual issue(s). It seems our son’s issues aren’t as simple as he just can’t have all dairy, because that isn’t the case at all.
As an infant, I started breastfeeding right away! Not soon after, I realized that Samuel’s stomach was not taking well to the breastmilk. He was having diarrhea with mucus and was extremely gassy every time he had breastmilk. I was advised by my pediatrician to pretty much do a complete overhaul of my diet.
Due to the pretty traumatic C-section and many complications I was experiencing from that surgery, I honestly couldn’t find the will and motivation to convert to a strict diet. This made me feel terrible as a new mother. After that, we tried every formula under the sun and all of them did nothing but make my son sicker. Finally, we were referred to a hypoallergenic amino acid-based formula, which worked great and released all the symptoms that poor Samuel experienced.
Samuel had just turned 1 years old and the hypoallergenic formula we were using cost us $46.00 for a small, 14 oz can. We tried going back to regular milk but he started experiencing extreme diarrhea, bloody stools, painful gas, and mucus right away. I couldn’t afford the toddler version of the hypoallergenic formula as it cost us the same amount.
Samuel took to Kabrita right away! There wasn’t a transition period, he loved the flavor and we loved the quality.
I have not tried it but I know for a fact that Samuel is a huge fan!
I love that it’s a good and wholesome product, and that is readily available in the states at my local farmers market grocery store!
Thank you for being such an amazing product that has changed our lives! It may seem a little crazy to say but this product honestly has helped us! Our son is happy, healthy, and thriving with no major gastro issue any longer and it’s not costing us an arm and a leg to keep using Kabrita!
