Every mom’s feeding experience is as unique as her baby. While the journey may be easy for some, others may struggle with many issues. Real Mom Stories is a series on our blog where we ask real moms to share their feeding experience. Whether you’re expecting, or already have a little one, we hope these stories can offer you insight on what worked (or didn’t work) for moms just like you. Today, we will be sharing Deanna's story about switching to Kabrita Goat Milk Toddler Formula after her daughter experienced minor issues on cow milk formula.
I first found out about Kabrita when I was researching goat milk formulas for my daughter.
My daughter had very bad reflux as a small baby. We began switching her from mainstream formula to Kabrita Goat Milk Formula when she was about four months old.
Kabrita helped calm our daughter’s stomach issues and the reflux is well under control. Kabrita was much easier for her to digest and she seemed much more comfortable drinking it than she did on the “regular” formula.
My husband and I are older parents who have started over - our own son is grown and on his own now, and we have adopted a baby girl. Breastfeeding her was not an option, so she needed to drink formula. She had terrible reflux on a mainstream cow-milk-based formula. As dairy goat farmers ourselves, we knew we wanted to switch to a goat-milk-based formula, and discovered Kabrita. We’ve been very happy with the quality, taste, and smell of Kabrita, and our daughter really likes it. The reflux is well under control now.
Honestly, this didn’t have a lot of influence on me, so probably not something I can talk about much.
The transition to Kabrita was smooth and easy. We switched her very gradually and all went well.
I did taste Kabrita. While it is a sweeter taste than plain goat milk, it’s a far more palatable option than mainstream cow-milk-based formula (which I also tasted). The cow formula smelled - and tasted - a little like baby vomit smells, but the Kabrita smells pleasant.
I like knowing that I’m giving my baby an easily digestible food that gives her the nutrition she needs without making her tummy upset.
