Kabrita Goat Milk Toddler Formula

Does your formula contain any hormones, antibiotics or pesticides?
What does the statement ‘Allergen Information: Milk’ mean on the formula label?

The FDA’s Food Allergen Labeling and Consumer Protection Act (FALCPA) requires that a food that contains an ingredient or protein from a “major food allergen ” be declared on the label.

We add the statement “Allergen information: Milk” on Kabrita goat milk formula for a few reasons:

First, the lactose in Kabrita Goat Milk Formula comes from cow milk (molecularly identical to other lactose sources) and may contain trace amounts of cow milk protein.

Second, we produce our products in a facility that also produces cow milk formula.

And third, Kabrita products are not suitable for children with cow milk protein allergy.

You can learn more on our blog.

Is Kabrita Toddler Formula organic?

Kabrita formula is not currently USDA organic. Non-GMO Kabrita goat milk formula is produced in Europe where strict regulations already limit the use of antibiotics, hormones and pesticides, and govern animal welfare.

You can learn more on our blogs about our farm and non-GMO labeling.

Is Kabrita Goat Milk Toddler Formula pasteurized?

Yes, Kabrita Goat Milk Toddler Formula is pasteurized.

What is the difference between an Infant Formula and a Toddler Formula?

The FDA requires all formula designed for children under the age of 12 months to participate in a clinical study to demonstrate growth and tolerance. A clinical study is not required for Toddler Formula. Manufacturing facility and microbial testing requirements also differ between infant and toddler formulas.

Infant and Toddler Formulas vary slightly in nutritional content and ingredients. For additional information please refer to our Nutrition Information section.

Is Kabrita Toddler Formula suitable for children under the age of 12 months?

Kabrita Goat Milk Toddler Formula meets the FDA nutrient requirements for infant formula, but we do not recommend it as the only source of nutrition for either infants or toddlers. Our formula is naturally easy to digest and designed to maintain the natural comfort of little ones during feeding transitions, such as weaning and supplementing. We encourage you to speak with a healthcare provider to discuss your child’s nutritional requirements and the available feeding options. For our formula nutritional profile, please visit us here.

We have initiated the transition project and are working with our supplier to make this a reality as soon as possible. Once this project is completed we will update our website to reflect the change. Kabrita is dedicated to transparency about our products and our commitment to continuous improvement. All our ingredients are carefully considered for their nutritional value and source and are reviewed on an ongoing basis. We appreciate your concern as it is people like you who help us make these improvements a reality.

Do you use hexane in the extraction process of DHA and ARA?

Hexane is used to extract many oils, including DHA. While it is used in the initial extraction process, the solvent evaporates in the subsequent refining process, which is safe and environmentally friendly. You are welcome to visit our blog on DHA & ARA for more information.
